She Uses THIS Common Household Item To Remove Pen Ink From Clothes And It Works Like MAGIC!
One of the most common, and most frustrating, stains to get on your clothes is from the ink of a pen.
All of us has experienced that moment when we accidentally mark our white pants or new top with the pen that’s in our hands.
There’s no reason to panic, though, because it is so easy to get this stain out with the trick that Maura White from Happy Deal Happy Day shared on Hometalk!
“I was getting pen ink all over my jacket while shopping and crossing items off of my list,” Maura wrote on her Hometalk post about the DIY trick. “Not to panic though because I know how to easily remove it!”
The magical trick for getting it out? Hairspray!
That’s right, you probably already have an aerosol bottle of hairspray in your bathroom, so it’s a great solution when you’re in a pinch, too!
The process of removing the stain is so easy, too.
All she did was spray the area where she stained her fabric with a generous amount of hairspray until it created a little puddle.
Then, she wiped the ink away with a damp sponge until it started to disappear.
To get it off completely, after wiping for a little bit, she sprayed the area once more and really worked it into the fabric to pull out the ink.
“I believe that the alcohol in the hairspray is the solvent that breaks down the ink and makes it disappear,” Maura wrote on her post.
Finally, after a couple of rounds of spraying and rubbing, the hairspray was dry and the ink was gone!
It’s a pretty magical fix, and it works on so many different types of fabric. This would even be a great way to get rid of those ink marks all over the inside of your purse from uncapped pens!
Just make sure you choose a hairspray that smells good, because the scent will probably stay on your clothes until you wash them!
